Let me tell you a story…

Meet Jane Sands…

Like many of our clients, Jane Sands had tried everything. 

She was smart. She had a good grasp of what she needed to do to lose weight, tone up, drop a dress size, and feel better about herself. 

Trouble was, nothing she tried was working over the years. 

She’d been a member of The Popular High Street Gyms for years, and had gone along to all manner of classes, even the tough ones, like HIIT and spinning.

Whenever her weight did start going down, the lengths she had to go to with cutting calories and banning foods meant she was hit with unbearable cravings, that she simply couldn’t ignored, or sustain, no longer than a few days, a weeks the most. 

All of a sudden, 4 weeks of hard work was entirely reversed in just one evening. 

Now, here’s where other unprofessional trainers might say all you needed to do was “Suck it up.” 

They might suggest she didn’t want it hard enough. 

Or she needed to be more motivated & dedicated. 

But I didn’t think that was the case.

Now, what I’m about to reveal to you is probably going to sound shocking. 

But go with me, because I’m going to show you undeniable proof that it does work. First, we need to know why other methods of losing fat and toning up simply DO NOT WORK, especially in the long run. 

The Low Carb Method?

Cut carbs and you’ll lose weight, right? 

Well, yes and no. 

When you cut carbs, you typically will drop weight. However, most of this initial loss is purely stored carbohydrate and water weight leaving your body. I.e. It’s not fat loss. 

So you may see a change on the scale, but it’s highly unlikely you’ll see one in your appearance, especially if you go to drastic initially. 

Those stubborn areas will still be there – The belly, the muffin top, and on the thighs, No Hiding Place. 

Secondly, low-carb diets are incredibly difficult to stick to, As the Brain needs it to function on properly. 

Let’s be real here; carbs are amazing. A diet without bread, pasta, rice, cereals and potatoes is a tough one to follow. And when you add in not being allowed alcohol, desserts, pastries or crisps, it gets even harder, especially if you have always indulgence in these food over a life time, Plus most individuals doesn’t have the will-power to sustain from hendonic foods such as these, Making it a losing Battle Before Their Start. 

Even rice cakes and most fruits are off the menu. 

The vast majority of women who try low-carb diets develop unbearable cravings, and these lead them to binge and break, meaning they often end up heavier than they were when they started. 

Plus, you can eat carbs and lose weight, so why would you avoid them in the first place, simply because your calories intake is what dedicate your overall weight loss-more on this later? 

Low-carb is simply not an enjoyable, effective, long-term solution.

And Don’t Even Get Me Started on Weight Loss Shakes or Detox Teas.

Weight loss shakes are designed for one purpose – To Burn a hole in your pocket and make the manufacturers money. 

Am I saying no woman who does a shake diet or drinks a weight loss tea ever gets results? 

Definitely not. Clearly, some women do lose weight and tone up when they take certain products. 

But at what cost? 

These diets are often so low in calories, they cause huge amounts of lean tissue loss, causing that ‘skinny-fat’ look, hair loss, brittle nail, lost of sex drive and more so a messed up Gut and metabolic system which can even take years to repair. 

Most are also no more than 800-1,000 calories per day, which causes high levels of hunger and cravings, and can make your energy levels plummet through the floor. 

Plus, they’re expensive, compare to eating real food, which cost less. 

If you have a never-ending supply of money, can spend all day, every day in bed, can survive with zero energy, and are an absolute rockstar at beating never-ending hunger …   

Then a shake-based diet or weight loss/ skinny teas probably aren’t going to be as bad for you … 

But if you’re a busy Mum, running around after your kids, or have a demanding job, or a business, or anything where you need to have energy and focus, drinking shakes, popping pills, or sipping overpriced drinks all day long in the hope of losing weight is just about the worst thing you can do.

When I first sat down with Jane Sands to discuss a plan of attack, she was worried about what it would involve. 

She’d already tried so much, that a big part of her just didn’t believe anything would work, which is usually the case for many women the time they get to us. 

She knew she wasn’t one of those women who lost weight effortlessly, and despite the fact she had the big motivation coming up of turning 50, she just wasn’t sure she could get any results. 

She knew women who’d gone to other trainers, only to be told to eat Fish and Veggies for seven days a week, or that they weren’t allowed any sugar, or that all dairy products were a no-go. 

She’d tried enough diet and training plans over the years that hadn’t worked for her, she knew she didn’t want to give up her carbs, have to train for hours every day, or be forced to do some gruelling HIIT style class full of nothing but jumping, jogging and press-ups at her age. 

It wasn’t that she wasn’t dedicated, it’s just that Jane Sands wasn’t prepared to work so hard if the weight loss and body-shaping results were as poor as they were from everything else she’d been through. 

Plus, work and family had to come first. 

And that was fine. That’s how a lot of our clients are, and that’s why we take that more personal, bespoke approach that covers the 4 “BE MORE” fundamental principles mentioned above to help clients gets winning results .

We’ve all been to trainers who tell you just to cut carbs, or give you a strict meal plan, or pop you on the treadmill for half an hour while they stand there and checkout instagram.

Most diets focus on food restriction.’

We let them have pasta and pizza, but within reason.

It calories that matters, and clearly we do have some rules, but our approach is based around you being able to eat your favorite foods (no matter what they are,) in moderation.

It’s certainly not so they get ‘big and bulky,’ (which is a huge misnomer, by the way.) 

It’s because weight training is the most effective form of burning calories, and changing body shape. 

Not only does getting stronger lead to increased tone and definition, it also burns calories, ramps up fitness levels, and builds incredible mental toughness. 

Plus, when it comes to stress-relief, there’s nothing better than pumping some iron. 

Many of the women who come to us are worried about lifting weights, and we understand that. After all, the media and other coaches are so quick to recommend cardio or circuits classes over weights, it’s no surprise. 

Thing is, there’s only so much time in the day. 

If you can only spare a couple of hours a week to train, you want maximum results in minimum time, and that’s what strength training provides.
